Entries are open until the 26th of June for the free time occupation program “Active Summer Holidays”, by the Câmara de Castro Marim, which starts on the 3rd of July and ends on the 31st of August.

«From futsal, passing through martial arts, dance, athletics, to theater and music, there are countless sports and cultural activities in the clubs and associations of the municipality of Castro Marim. Active and very dynamic, associativism is one of the driving forces of Castromarinense identity, which is a strategy to make young people aware of all the existing offer, simultaneously valuing the work and dedication of communities», according to the Chamber of Castro Marim.
The Municipality will invest around 140 euros in organizing this initiative, in an effort to «present differentiating, useful and healthy activities for children and young people» and, at the same time, respond «to a problem that parents face at each interruption teaching, thus constituting a fundamental support at a time of the year when non-formal offers are scarce».
«Each year, monitors are selected and trained, a transport network is implemented and meals are guaranteed, in order to allow the enjoyment of an exciting holiday program and generator of confidence for parents», adds the municipality.
The municipality may support, within the scope of the Social Action Regulation, the attendance of programs aimed at this purpose by children and young people residing in the municipality and depending on the respective diagnosis. For more information, see the regulation.
The program will be interrupted between the 21st and 25th of August, for the event “Medieval Days in Castro Marim” [23 to 27 August].
