Alcoutim supports citizens who suffer from diabetes

All patients covered by the protocol benefit from a "constant global approach"

The Alcoutim Council will transfer 7 euros to the Association for the Study of Diabetes Millitus and Support for the Diabetic of the Algarve – AEDMADA, within the scope of a protocol already signed.

This protocol will serve to provide "medical-clinical and rehabilitation support to citizens who suffer from diabetes, a chronic disease with special needs", says the Alcouteneja municipality.

The Chamber will refer patients, through the social action, health and education unit, to the AEDMADA, which, in turn, «is in charge of providing all the necessary diabetological support».

All patients covered by the protocol benefit from a «constant global approach (nursing, medical-diabetic, dietetics, psychological, podological and pharmacological) according to their needs, being followed and referred to the Hospital de Faro when circumstances so require'.
