On the 28th and 29th of April, Olhão will host the 1st edition of the Iberian Technology Summit (ITS), an initiative that aims to boost the technology sector in the Iberian Peninsula and create networks of professionals.

According to the organization, «more than 800 participants» are expected at this event, which will take place at the Real Marina Hotel and Spa.

“This event provides a unique opportunity for individuals of all backgrounds and skill levels to come together and explore the latest innovations in IT and software. Whether you're looking to start a new career, advance your current one or find a way to understand how to grow your business, this event could be your gateway to success. No prior knowledge is required, so don't hesitate to sign up today and open your door to endless possibilities», urges Kaila Bloomfield, the promoter of the event.

The summit will host “industry leaders who will present sessions on technology and business solutions in English, Portuguese, and Spanish”.

In all, 54 presentations and 11 practical workshops are planned on how to use Microsoft products to solve real-life challenges for companies.

«Speakers such as Jon Levesque (Washington, USA), Maíra Wenzel (Los Angeles, USA) and Miguel Coquet (Faro, PT) will share their point of view on engagement, adoption and how to create local centers of knowledge that influence jobs, community and better competition in the market”.

The workshops will cover topics such as “HR in a day the Microsoft way”, “How to use AI” and “How to create an automated customer contact center”.

Since places are limited for the workshops, to reserve a place, those interested will have to pay a reservation fee.

Apart from the workshops, access to the event is free of charge, with 800 free passes available for IT professionals and anyone interested in the technological scene.

“A Hackathon centered on the search for technological solutions to climate change will also be organised, with a prize for the best team”.

Over the course of three days, the organization promises that there will be «various networking moments», which will not only allow people to «connect in a more informal way», but will also give rise to the creation of «network spaces for IT professionals, companies and people interested in entering the IT industry in Spain or Portugal».
