The suspect of having tried to murder a man while he was sleeping, after forcing his way into the victim's home, in Faro, in the early hours of Thursday, the 23rd, was arrested by the Judiciary Police, for «strong indications of the commission of the crime of qualified homicide, in the attempted form».
The 42-year-old detainee allegedly entered the victim's house "through a break-in" and hit her with "a gunshot while she was sleeping".
The victim, a 38-year-old man, "suffered injuries that, due to their severity, led to his being taken to the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve, where he remains hospitalized", according to the PJ.
Meanwhile, the PJ's Southern Directorate collected "relevant evidence that led to the arrest of the presumed author".
The detainee will be present for judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures.
