The men's team at Casa do Benfica de Faro (CBF) guaranteed its presence in the 1st Division of the National Indoor Club Championship, in athletics, after having placed 7th by teams in the qualification phase of this competition, which took place on the 28th and 29th of January, in Braga and in Pombal.
The final of the National Club Championship is made up of two divisions of 8 teams each, previously selected in a qualifying phase in which all teams start from zero. This year, 40 women's and 46 men's teams qualified
The CBF men's team, «which already has 4 titles of National Champion of the 2nd Division in this variant of athletics on indoor track, will now and for the second time, participate in the 1st division», according to the Farense club.
The final of the 1st and 2nd divisions will take place in Pombal, on the 11th and 12th of February.
The CBF women's team, which was also in competition, ranked 19th in the qualification phase.
