A campaign to desilt the mouth of the Aljezur stream took place this Wednesday, February 20, at Praia da Amoreira.
The initiative was carried out by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), in partnership with the Aljezur Council.
«This operation follows on from the various steps taken by this municipality, namely the various technical visits carried out in conjunction with the APA and ICNF, not only to this river but also to the Seixe and Bordeira rivers», says the municipality.
«The works carried out were fundamental at the time, since the closure of the mouth of the Amoreira river was already causing numerous constraints upstream», he adds.
For the works, the municipality made available two heavy machines and several operators so that they could help in the operations.
