PAN Algarve restructures Political Commission despite the controversy

The political commission has already taken office and will serve a two-year term

The PAN Algarve has been restructured and says it is "ready to work on behalf of the people of the Algarve" after the elections of 15 October and recent layoffs of some elements.

The District Policy Commission of Faro it is now constituted by the effective elements that continue in function and by the remaining substitutes, in order of eligibility.

“People, animals and nature will be our top priority. We recently managed to get the Administrative Court of Loulé
stop the destruction of Alagoas Brancas and we are committed to continue fighting for the preservation of our environment», reveals
Saul Rosa.

«Despite the difficulties and the different views of the elements of the two lists, previously in office, we remained willing to work, because the collective interest of the Algarve is above any personal interest. We will work to build a strong and stable structure, so that we can represent the interests of the Algarve and everyone who wants to join us at a time when unity in the defense of our common home is so urgent. We will not disappoint our electorate», he continues.

Political commissioner Isabel Figueiras also defends that «we cannot forget the associations that are in a daily struggle to defend the animal cause in the Algarve».

«We will work to strengthen relations between the PAN and these same zoophile associations, so that a process can be mechanized that will progressively help us to eradicate the difficulties of these associations. We want to further strengthen these ties. Still on the animal cause, we intend to raise awareness in our region that it is necessary to normalize plant-based food options, in order to reduce carbon emissions as well as the inherent animal cruelty», says the commissioner.

Carlos Edgar, also political commissioner, talks about laying the foundations of the environmental cause in the Algarve, giving the example of Alagoas Brancas, in Lagoa.

«The PAN will go to the last consequences, to avoid the unbridled destruction of ecosystems in the Algarve. Fighting for water efficiency plans in the region and emphasizing circular economic and resource models will also be part of our range of actions », he says.

Pascal Rodrigues, newly elected commissioner, is also motivated and says that «the challenges that await us in the future are very demanding», therefore, he defends that he put into practice policies that protect People, Animals and Nature and emphasizes the importance of the health sector.

«People need to have a system focused on disease prevention measures and ensuring that all users feel confident in our health system», he concludes.

This political commission has already taken office and will serve a two-year term.
