More than a thousand athletes participated this Sunday, October 23, in the Trail da Costa Vicentina, an athletics event (cross), on the national circuit, which covered the trails and pedestrian paths between Santiago do Cacém and Porto Covo.
The race took place over different distances of 57 km, departing from Santiago do Cacém, 25 km, departing from Cercal do Alentejo, and 15 km, from Sonega, with arrivals in Porto Covo.
On the same day, there was a walk, in a circular route to Cercal do Alentejo, covered in the Rota Vicentina with a distance of 11 km, whose registration value reverted in full to the Volunteer Firefighters of Cercal do Alentejo.
The Trail da Costa Vicentina is an organization of GanDestak with the support of the City Council of Santiago do Cacém and the City Council of Sines. The three distances are tests of the National Circuit of Trail Ultra, Trail Medium and Trail Sprint.
The Municipality of Santiago do Cacém congratulates all the athletes in the county who have again reached prominent places in this 2022 edition. The mayor Álvaro Beijinha, in addition to participating in the competition, was present at the awards ceremony.
