October starts with music and dance in Guadalupe and Sagres

Month starts with three proposals

The October program, at the monuments belonging to the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, opens with a series of concerts at the Ermida de Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe and with the presentation of the project “Secret Tango Encounter”, at the Fortress of Sagres. 

The Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe hosts, this Wednesday, the 5th, at 17:00, the first concert of the Concerts cycle by Artis XXI, with “O Quinteto de Sopros Artis XXI”.

The quintet consists of Rute Gomes (transverse flute), Catarina Silva (oboe), Patrícia Camelo (clarinet), Maria Castro (bassoon) and Daniela Serafim (horn).

Next Sunday, the 9th, at 17:00, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe hosts the show “Ensemble Armilar – Luzes e Sombras”.

This show will feature Catarina Carvalho (soprano), Ana Figueiras (recorders), Teresa Madeira (baroque cello) and Elsa Mathei (harpsichord).

The series of concerts by Artis XXI is promoted by Artis XXI – Associação de Educação Artística de Lagoa, for the program DiVaM – Dynamization and Valorization of Monuments.

The project “Secret Tango Encounter” is presented at the Fortaleza de Sagres, on Saturday, the 8th, starting at 14:30 pm.

It is a multidisciplinary project, promoted by Eduarda Coutinho, of dance and culture, which values ​​the heritage and cultural diversification in the Algarve, promoting cultural innovation in the dissemination of tango, intangible heritage of humanity.

At 14:30 pm, there will be a tango class for beginners; from 15:30 pm to 17:00 pm, a milonga set to music is scheduled. Three tango teachers will be invited, known and consecrated throughout Europe, who are passionate about Argentine tango and who are dedicated to its dissemination with great success. They are Sónia Aires, Paulo Bernardo and Carlos Matias.

The opening of the exhibition “La Boca” in Buenos Aires, by Dora Ponte and Eduarda Coutinho, is scheduled for 17:00. The exhibition develops a concept that chooses drawing as a visual expression of tango.
