Lagoa celebrates the patron saint Senhora da Luz with 10 days of celebrations

Big names in music pass through the stages of Lagoa throughout the month of September

The procession with the image of the patron saint, with the participation of the Silves Philharmonic Band and the Fanfare of the Scout Group 511, through the streets of the city of Lagoa, will be the usual highlight of the festivities in honor of Nossa Senhora da Luz, on the 8th September, municipal holiday in Lagos.

But the festivities, which start on the 1st of September and last until the 10th, also include the Exhibition of the Conventual Sweet of Lagoa, the release of the first issue of the Arade magazine, from the Municipal Archive, an exhibition on the centenary of the Farol de Alfanzina, the public presentation of the Casa da Cidadania de Lagoa project, the delivery of the Santos Stockler Literary Prize and the opening concert of the Lagoa International Guitar Festival.

In addition to all this, there will be lots of good music, as well as other performing arts, in various places in the county. Throughout September, names such as Bubba Espinho, Cláudia Pascoal, Jorge Fernando, Celina da Piedade and GNR, among others, will pass through the stages of Lagos.

The program is promoted by the Municipality of Lagoa, in partnership with other entities in the municipality.
