There is a new mural in the historic center of São Brás de Alportel, by Jacqueline de Montaigne, which pays tribute to the composer from São Paulo, Maria da Luz Brito Pinto.

The official presentation of this work of art took place this Tuesday, August 23, at a ceremony at the Espaço Memória do Município, in the Paços do Concelho building, which was attended by the composer's relatives: her son Joaquim Pinto, granddaughter Raquel and great-granddaughter Lar.

The moment was also attended by the author of the mural, the municipal executive and the president of the Parish Council João Rosa.

The young Carlota Guerreiro, who is part of Rancho Típico Sambrasense, was the inspiration for the mural.

The City Council took the opportunity to deliver, to the family members, a certificate of homage to the composer from São Paulo, Maria da Luz Brito Pinto.

The moment also included the interpretation of the most popular theme by Maria de Luz Brito, called “Cabo de São Vicente”, in accordion, by David Mendonça, a young man from São Paulo.

This new project continues the program “Calçadas a Arte Sai à Rua”.
