Boat, kayak, jeep and even gyroscope trips, as well as the possibility to try slide, fly board, paddle surf or relax in a saline spa are some of the free tourist experiences that will be promoted during the “Guadiana Weekend”, which takes place on the 10th and 11th of September in the municipalities of Alcoutim, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António.
The border area of Baixo Guadiana will be the stage for this event organized by Odiana, during which the association that brings together the three municipalities of this territory will promote experiences that «intend to value and promote companies and the territory, living up to the slogan of the project “Choose Guadiana – much more than a river”.
The free nautical and tourist activities that will be promoted are aimed at both residents and tourists.
«Participants are invited to embark on a range of activities with the approval of seven tour operators in the lower Guadiana border. In addition to enjoying the experience, this initiative also aims to publicize the companies operating in the territory, boosting the local economy and its promotion», reinforces Odiana.
Registration for eight different experiences – saline spa, boat trips (various modalities), jeep tours, kayak tours, paddle surfing, fly board and gyrocopter flights – will be available from August 26th «only online» and can be done following this link.
Enrollment is limited to the number of experiences provided by the organization, as stipulated in the regulation, which is available here. It is not possible to register by telephone or in person.
«If you are one of the fastest to sign up, you will later receive the contact of the organization and an email with a numbered voucher to enjoy the experience», explains Odiana.
According to the organization, this will be «a strategic journey to boost and enhance the economy of the river and its entrepreneurs, allowing them to give visibility to their work, promoting the intersection of different approaches and boosting synergies».
This initiative is promoted by the Odiana Association and integrated into the Choose Guadiana project, financed by the CRESC ALGARVE 2020 Operational Program (SIAC Qualification).
