VAMUS Algarve awarded at the Global Mobi Awards Prio

Ceremony took place at Convento de S. Francisco, in Coimbra

The VAMUS Algarve concession was distinguished, in the Cities category, at the Global Mobi Awards Prio, the awards that distinguish the best in smart mobility in Portugal. 

At the ceremony held at the Convento de S. Francisco, in Coimbra, on the 30th of June, Daniela Serrão, representing AMAL, thanked the award that «places the Algarve in a prominent place in the area of ​​mobility».

«VAMUS Transportes do Algarve is the adaptation of a brand that AMAL already has to promote PAMUS - Sustainable Urban Mobility Action Plan and it is in this sense, to align the objectives and strategy that AMAL has for the region, which this brand has been adapted», he added.

«The entire ticketing and public information system now has a single base, with, for example, real-time information at all bus stops, without using digital panels, but by reading a QR Code», said yet.

«This concession is a source of great pride for AMAL, not only because the first steps are being taken towards change in the region, in terms of mobility, but also because this work is being done in partnership with the operator» , advanced.

Moreover, the VAMUS Transportes do Algarve concession was also one of the candidates in the Mobility Technology category, which aims to “reward technologies, digital applications or systems that contribute to a more intelligent and decarbonized mobility, whether in the mobility ecosystem or whether in the usage profiles of companies or citizens”.

Ricardo Afonso, Director of Vizur, also thanked the distinction and left a word of recognition «to all the teams that are doing work, in the Algarve, to democratize public transport, make it accessible and transparent».

The award was presented by Guilherme Pinheiro, CFO of the Global Media Group.

Guilherme Marques, director of Prio, a partner in the initiative, underlined the importance of these awards to promote best practices and products for the decarbonization of the economy and energy transition.
