Tourists will be able to “Savor the Algarve” upon arrival at the Airport

This action is intended to promote a new promotional product for the region to passengers who disembark in the Algarve capital.

A welcome gift that wants to make known the «best» that exists in the Algarve. The Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries (DRAP) will carry out from the 1st to the 5th of August an action to promote and publicize the Mediterranean Diet, at the Airport of Faro.

This action is intended to promote a new promotional product in the region to passengers who disembark in the Algarve capital. These are two preserves, in glass, produced in an artisanal way, based on fish and with ingredients from local producers, entitled “Petiscadas”, which gave rise to the new brand “Saborear o Algarve”, created in a partnership coordinated by DRAP Algarve, with the aim of promoting the quality of agri-food and fisheries

This event is one of a series of initiatives that DRAP Algarve has carried out in recent months, aiming at the dissemination of endogenous regional productions, in particular horse mackerel, mackerel, almond and Indian fig palm (ingredients from mentioned preserves), with funding under the OP MAR2020.

«This “welcome gift” is a small sample of the great list of “traditional flavors” that the Algarve has to offer its people and those who visit us, from fresh fruit and vegetables, sweets based on nuts, wines, fish and seafood of high quality, through direct distribution to tourists arriving at the airport of Faro, promoting sustainable food, disseminating the endogenous resources of agri-food and fisheries and the historical-cultural importance of the heritage linked to the Mediterranean Diet for the Algarve and Portugal».
