The young man who assaulted the elderly and stole carob is in preventive detention

The 20-year-old man who was arrested by the GNR on July 20, in Olhão, suspected of being the author of thefts and robberies of the elderly, as well as the theft of carob, was in preventive detention, having been taken to the Prison of look.

According to the GNR, whose Criminal Investigation Nucleus (NIC) of Faro was responsible for the investigation that led to the arrest of the young man, "in the course of investigations after the arrest, it was possible to establish that the detainee is also suspected of having carried out thefts and robberies of carob in the region".

The man is now “indicted for seven robberies, using violence, against the elderly”, from whom he stole “articles in gold and money”, as well as for theft of “non-precious metals” and carob beans.
