Albufeira: Two youths who were part of a violent crime gang arrested

The PJ wants to clarify the relationship of this group «with recent events in the Loulé area»

Two young people, aged 23 and 29, who are part of a gang dedicated to violent crime, were arrested in Albufeira, announced this Tuesday, June 28, the Judiciary Police (PJ). Authorities are looking for more elements of this criminal group. 

According to the PJ, the detention took place in the “context of investigations that take place by coercion with a firearm, detention of a prohibited weapon”.

The Judiciary Police managed to identify "a group of individuals, suspected of the practice of the facts, which occurred in the municipality of Albufeira at the end of December 2021".

The two youths already detained will now be present at the first judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures.

As for the investigation, the Judiciary Police is in charge, with the aim of detecting all the “remaining suspects” of being part of this gang.

The PJ also wants to clarify the relationship of this group “with recent events in the Loulé area, of offense to physical integrity motivated by settling accounts between individuals with police and criminal records, for the same type of crimes and theft”.
