UAlg holds a seminar to promote the Mediterranean Diet as a multidisciplinary concept

Seminar takes place on April 27, between 10:00 and 13:00

The University of Algarve, through the MED Research Center – Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development, will hold a seminar entitled “Mediterranean Diet: a multidisciplinary approach in promoting a common vision”, on the 27th of April, between 10:00 am and 13:00 pm, in the Seminar Room of the Rectory of the University of Algarve, on the Gambelas Campus.

This is an initiative whose main objective is to «promote the Mediterranean Diet as a multidisciplinary concept, aggregating different valences, ranging from territory, food and different lifestyles», emphasizes UAlg.

The opening session will be attended by the vice-chancellor Alexandra Teodósio, followed by the presentation of the “Project MD.net: When Brand Meets People” by Anabela Romano, professor at the University of Algarve and, later, Filipe Barata, professor at the University of Évora, will talk about “The Mediterranean Diet, an intelligent specialization”.

The book presentation is scheduled for 11:30 amThe Mediterranean Diet: Fostering a Common Vision Through a Multidisciplinary Approach“, by Alexandra Gonçalves, professor at the University of Algarve.

Finally, at 12:00, the “Med Diet Declaration“, by Natacha Coelho, researcher at the University of Algarve, ending with the ceremony for the delivery of Certificates to Members.
