Sagres lifeguard rescues young Frenchman with high fever on board ship

Man was transported to hospital

The Sagres lifeguard rescued on the night of this Thursday, April 7, a young Frenchman, 25 years old, who had a high fever on board a ship that was sailing about 30 nautical miles (60 kilometers), West of Cape S. Vicente. 

After the alert, at 21:00, a boat “SR33” from the Sagres Lifeguard Station was engaged to rescue the man.

The operation was completed around 22:40 pm.

Then, the vessel headed for the Port of Baleeira, where an ambulance was waiting for the patient. The man was then transported to the hospital.
