The weekly average of new cases of Covid-19 remains in the Algarve, with a tendency to decrease a little, according to data from the weekly situation, which has just been released by the Civil Protection Commission of the Algarve Region.

According to this information note, in the week of 15 to 22 April, there were 2965 more cases of Covid-19 across the Algarve, as well as 9 deaths directly caused by the disease. To date and since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 166.891 infections by SARS-Cov-2, as well as 757 deaths, at the regional level.

As for hospitals, the weekly bulletin indicates that there are 57 Covid-19 patients hospitalized in Algarve hospitals (plus 5), of which 3 are in Intensive Care (+1), but none of them are ventilated (-1).

At this moment, Municipal Vaccination Centers in Albufeira continue to operate, Faro/Penha, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Olhão, Portimão, Silves and Tavira. In the remaining municipalities (Alcoutim, Aljezur, Castro Marim, Monchique, São Brás de Alportel, Vila do Bispo and Vila Real de Santo António), anti-Covid vaccines are given at Health Centers.
