Meet some of the speakers already confirmed for the Algarve Tech Hub Summit

Algarve Tech Hub Summit will bring together several personalities to discuss and think about the role of innovation and technology in the region

Claudio Calveri, digital strategist for public figures and institutions, the Brazilian artist Emanuel Pimenta, and Pablo Berástegui, responsible for the Salut au monde! space, dedicated to documentary photography, in Porto, are some of the speakers already confirmed for the Algarve Tech Hub Summit that will take place from March 28 to April 3, in Faro and Loulé. 

Pablo Berástegui is also responsible for coordinating the contemporary creation center Matadero, in Madrid, and is part of the team responsible for the rehabilitation of the old Fábrica da Cerveja, in Faro.

The Brazilian artist Emanuel Pimenta collaborated, among others, with the American composer John Cage, the choreographer Merce Cunningham or the Swiss philosopher René Berger, with whom he directed the first video art and electronic art festivals in the world.

Also present will be Alessandra Priante (World Tourism Organization), Ana Chiappetta (Alibaba Group), André Marquet (Productized), Edouard Rollet (Alter Eco and Quinta Bohemia), Joana Glória (Lagos Digital Nomads), Kelly McGuire (ZS ), Luís Araújo (Turismo de Portugal), Marco Peerboom (Decred), Nelson Luciano (Google Cloud Portugal), Ramin and Firuza Sultanov (Floovly and EMPWRD), Stewart Noakes (Canopy Lx) and Tim Vieira (Brave Generation).

The Algarve Tech Hub Summit will bring together several personalities to discuss and think about the role of innovation and technology in the region and the changes in the economy, environment, academia, culture and tourism. In the spotlight will be national and international companies operating from the Algarve, startups, ongoing projects and innovative ideas.

The testimonies of successful cases of those who chose to live and work in the south of the country are added. The event aims to promote the region as a global and competitive technological hub and attract entrepreneurs, digital nomads and remote workers to integrate the local ecosystem. This is a joint initiative of 12 entities: Algarve Evolution, Algarve STP – Systems and Technology Partnership, Algarve Tech Hub (ATH), AMAL – Algarve Intermunicipal Community, ANJE – National Association of Young Entrepreneurs, municipal councils of Faro and Loulé, Algarve Regional Development and Coordination Commission, Faro 2027, Museu Zero, NERA – Business Association of the Algarve Region and University of the Algarve.

As part of the Algarve Tech Hub Summit program, the DISRUPT'22 Algarve Tech Hub, a startup competition, which aims to stimulate new ideas and which has 20 thousand euros in prizes for the most innovative.

The program includes lectures and workshops on the metaverse, cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

For a week, technology, entrepreneurship and lifesyle are the subject of conferences, debates and exhibitions. English is the official language of ATHS, which will be held in person and online, open to the public, with free registration, subject to space limitations.
