Portimão Library celebrates International Children's Book Day with storytelling

The Portimão Library will mark the International Children's Book Day with the narration, on the 2nd of April, of stories for the little ones.

A first session is scheduled for 16:00 pm, aimed at the younger audience, and a second one, after 21:00 pm, in which the recipients will be children from 6 years old and their parents.

In the fun and surprising afternoon session, Bruno Batista will talk about the “Mala do Contador”, «which is mysterious and magical and from which words, stories, special objects and many surprises come out», says the Portimão Chamber.

«For the evening, magic will dominate the attention with tales flying around the room, populating the imagination of the listeners and inhabiting the hearts of those present, in an evening that aims to delight the whole family», he adds.

Born in the Algarve 42 years ago, Bruno Batista has a degree in Cultural Animation and Community Education, dividing his work between representation, storytelling, book mediation and training. As a storyteller, he has more than a thousand sessions held, participating in festivals, book fairs, schools, libraries, reading weeks, etc.

Also within the scope of the celebrations of the International Children's Book Day, which marks the birth of the popular Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen, during the week of April 4th to 8th, the Municipal Library of Portimão will only make children's and youth books available in the Reading Cabin. , a telephone booth converted into a mini-library, operating in Largo Dom João II, in the heart of the city.
