State is looking for houses to buy in 12 Algarve municipalities

The IHRU will only consider dwellings with typology from T1 to T4

Until this Friday, February 11th, the State is looking for houses to buy in 12 Algarve municipalities. The goal is then to lease them at affordable prices. 

The municipalities concerned are Albufeira, Castro Marim, Faro, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Olhão, Portimão, Silves, Tavira, Vila do Bispo and Vila Real de Santo António.

According to notice from the Institute for Housing and Urban Rehabilitation (IHRU), may submit proposals "any natural person or legal person who owns the properties" or "duly licensed real estate brokerage companies, provided that they have the necessary powers to carry out all acts inherent to the submission of proposals and other consultation procedures ».

The IHRU will only consider dwellings with typology from T1 to T4 and with defined maximum values.

In the case of T1, the maximum ceiling is 213 thousand euros, while for T2, the value is fixed at 295 thousand euros.

Regarding the T3 typology, the maximum that the State will pay is 373 thousand euros and, for T4, 430 thousand euros.

In the notice, the IHRU explains that it accepts new construction if the works have been completed in the three months since the publication of the advertisement, on 14 January.

As for old houses, this Institute will only buy houses that have «conditions for immediate use».

Proposals must be delivered, by registered mail and with acknowledgment of receipt, addressed to IHRU, IP, Avenida Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro nº5, 1099-019 Lisboa, until 23:59 this Friday, the 11th.

In addition to the 12 Algarve municipalities, the IHRU is also looking for housing in the Lisbon and Porto areas.
