Covid-19: Algarve registers another death and 870 infections, active cases continue to fall nationally

Data have just been released by DGS

The Algarve registers one more death and 870 cases of Covid-19, according to the bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health this Sunday, February 13, which also reports the continuous drop in active cases at national level.

Nationally, there are today 16.132 new cases of Covid-19, a lower number compared to yesterday (19.436).

In relation to data from last Sunday, February 6, there was also a sharp decrease in new cases, as 31.431 new infections had been recorded on that day.

One of the highlights of today's bulletin is the drop in active cases: there are now 15.485 fewer, out of a total of 569.728.

Looking at today's report, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo have most of the new infected (+5.293), followed very closely by the North (+5.113).

This is followed by the Center (+3.042), Algarve (870), Alentejo (+761), Azores (+647) and Madeira (+406).

In terms of deaths, our country today recorded 38 more, spread across the North (15), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (10), Center (8), Alentejo (3), Algarve (1) and Azores (1).

Compared to yesterday's numbers, there are now 66 more patients in the ward (total of 2.298), but five less in intensive care (total of 155).

If we compare with the data from a week ago, we can see that there are fewer hospitalizations in the ward (on February 6th, there were 2.511) and in the ICU, the most serious cases, were more (180).

Returning to today's bulletin, the number of recoveries was 31.579 (for a total of 2.495.002).

There are 602.483 contacts under surveillance (-13.294).

OR(t), transmissibility index, is situated at 0,88, both at the national level and taking into account only mainland Portugal.

The incidence is situated at 6099,6 cases of infection per 100 thousand inhabitants, nationally, and at 6133,0 cases, excluding the islands.
