CCDR Algarve promoted the first technical meeting of the Regional Commission on the integrated system of rural dwellings

After the approval of the Regional Program, the execution of the Municipal Programs will begin

The presentation of the proposal for a Regional Action Program for the Algarve, as well as the definition of the work methodology, next steps and schedule of meetings, as well as the evaluation of the pilot project for the Western Algarve were the themes of the first technical meeting of the Regional Commission for the Integrated Management of Rural Fires (SGIFR) in the Algarve, which took place this Monday, in the auditorium of the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR).

The agenda of the meeting also included the presentation of the members of the Technical Level.

According to a note from CCDR Algarve, the SGIFR was created through the Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. the simultaneous adoption of multiple solutions are advocated, built in an inclusive and participatory way, put into practice and applied in an integrated and transversal way, and a horizontal articulation model is defined for all entities participating in structural prevention, in the self-protection systems of people and infrastructure, in decision support mechanisms, in the device for fighting rural fires and in the recovery of burned areas».

"This new regime also provides for macro-policies and strategic guidelines to reduce the danger and change the behavior of owners, users and direct and indirect beneficiaries of the rural territory".

The strategy for the period of validity of this PNGIFR, as well as the initiatives that constitute the program of action and the entire chain of processes of the SGIFR, «follow an ambitious vision, of where Portugal should find itself after 2030, establishing as a mission to protect the people and goods from rural fires and enhance wild spaces, keeping ecosystems in a good state of conservation through the identification of strategic guidelines and respective objectives, for which it is necessary to persistently implement a cohesive program of actions and projects until 2030», adds CCDR's note.

There is now a period for the presentation of contributions on the Regional Program of the Algarve, by the entities that make up the Regional Commission, constituted under the terms of Decree-Law no. Algarve in the deliberative sessions.

In the technical sessions, the work is led by the Agency for the Integrated Management of Rural Fires (AGIF) and representatives of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (EMGFA), National Republican Guard (GNR), Public Security Police (PSP) participate. , Algarve Regional Command of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), the League of Portuguese Firefighters (LBP), Judiciary Police (PJ), Institute for Nature and Forest Conservation (ICNF), Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) , the Institute for Mobility and Transport (IMT), Regional Directorate for Agriculture and Fisheries (DRAP Algarve), Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary Medicine (DGAV), Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), AMAL – Intermunicipal Community of the Algarve , Aspaflobal – Association of Forest Producers of the Western Algarve, Viver Serra – Association for the Protection and Development of the Mountains of the Western Algarve, Cumeadas – Association of Forest Owners of the Cumeadas do Algarve Baixo Guadiana and the Association of Forestry Producers of Serra do Caldeirão, REN-Redes Energéticas Nacionais, E-REDES, EDP-Energias de Portugal and the Portuguese Environment Agency.
