The exhibition “Path – The reconstruction of memory”, by Rui Matos, opens on the 29th of January at the Municipal Museum of Tavira – Palácio da Galeria.
This exhibition «reveals the various paths of the artist's work over the last 13 years, a time when iron and its constructive possibilities entered his lineage», explains the Câmara de Tavira.
According to Rui Matos, «each sculpture corresponds to a body of unique origin that grew and developed from an inner tension and can accept external objects, integrating them as tools».
For Rui Matos, this is a very specific work as an author, «but each sculpture will only be truly completed when the observer completes it with his personal vision, his sensitivity and his culture».
The exhibition will be open until 16 April and can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:30 am to 16:30 pm.
