Man caught stealing fuel from truck in Boliqueime

This man already has several criminal records

A 63-year-old man was arrested this Friday, January 28, for stealing fuel from a truck that was parked in Boliqueime (Loulé). 

According to the GNR, the man was taking out the fuel with a hose, «having, next to him, five twenty-liter jerricans».

The suspect still tried to flee on foot, with the arrival of the GNR, but was “intercepted a few meters later”.

In total, one vehicle, 13 jerrycans with a total of 65 liters of fuel, two hoses, two crowbars, a pocket knife, a pair of gloves and tools used to break into the security systems of the tanks were seized.

This man already has “several criminal records for robberies, thefts, driving without a legal license and crimes of disobedience, in various parts of the Algarve, having already served an effective prison sentence for these crimes”.

The man was arrested, and the facts were reported to the Loulé Judicial Court.

The action was supported by soldiers from the Vilamoura Territorial Post, from the Criminal Investigation Center (NIC) from Loulé and from the Technical Support Center (NAT) from Faro.
