“Docapesca Ocean Sessions” took Tiago “Saca” Pires to Lagos

Surfer Tiago “Saca” Pires participated this Wednesday, January 26, in the “Docapesca Ocean Sessions” that took place at Porto de Mós Beach, in Lagos.

«With a strong pedagogical component aimed at young people who are part of Sports Training Centers for School Sports that integrate the modality of surfing, the ”Docapesca Oceans Sessions” explores themes related to the sustainability of resources, the problem of marine litter, the importance of fish consumption and promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle», explains the Câmara de Lagos.

Allied to the ocean literacy component, the activity also included a practical surfing class with the presence of Tiago Pires, the first Portuguese surfer to integrate the World Tour, which had the participation of students from the Lacobrigensian school community.

According to the municipality, «with calm waters and favorable winds, the municipality of Lagos presents the ideal conditions for the practice of water sports».

«In addition to the educational component of sports related to the sea and the creation of the Lagos Nautical Station, which has as one of its objectives the promotion of activities related to the sea, Lagos is also a destination of excellence chosen by sportsmen from all over the world. », he concludes.
