Albufeira PS withdraws political confidence from Ricardo Clemente

Head of list for the PS in the last Autárquicas, the current councilor, with functions, guaranteed José Carlos Rolo (PSD) the majority in the Chamber

The PS from Albufeira removed the political trust to councilor Ricardo Clemente, head of the list of socialists in the Autárquicas, but who was against the party orientation and accepted a position of councilor with portfolios in the City Council led by the PSD.

The decision was taken, "by majority", this Monday, November 1, at the meeting of the Political Commission of the PS.

The withdrawal of political confidence is due to the "options" and "personal decision" of Ricardo Clemente, "contrary to the party's guidelines", says the PS.

Head of the PS list in the last Autárquicas, the current permanent councilor guaranteed José Carlos Rolo (PSD) the majority in the Chamber.

In elections, the social democrat won the Chamber, but without a majority, since the PSD elected only 3 of the 7 seats in the municipal executive. The rest were for the PS (2), for the Independent Movement Albufeira Primeira, by Desidério Silva (1) and for the movement Albufeira Prometida, by Abel Zua (1).

Therefore, on the night of the swearing-in, the mayor announced to the Sul Informação which he was in negotiations with "an elected one", without saying which one.

He ended up being the head of the list of socialists to accept the position of permanent councilor with portfolios.
