José Carlos Rolo elected president in Albufeira but without majority

There were four candidacies to guarantee councilors

José Carlos Rolo was elected mayor of Albufeira (PSD/CDS-PP/MPT/PPM), in an election in which the seven mandates were distributed among four candidates and in which the ruling coalition lost the absolute majority.

The acting president, who assumed the seat during the term, obtained 32,04% and elects the president and two other councilors (3 terms).

The PS, whose list was headed by Ricardo Clemente, obtained 25,67% and elects two councilors.

The other two councilors are both heads of the list of independent candidates: the former mayor of Albufeira Desidério Silva (MIPA, 15,99%) and Abel Zua (AP, 10,45%).

These are followed by CHEGA (5,77%), CDU (2,95), BE (2,1%) and PAN (1,9%).

In the Parish Councils, the PS gains three parishes (Ferreiras, Guia and Paderne) and the PSD/CDS-PP/MPT/PPM coalition gains one (Albufeira and Olhos de Água).
