Algarve registers another death and 47 new cases of Covid-19

The Algarve has yet another death due to Covid-19, the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) has just announced in its bulletin this Sunday, 24 October, which also reports 47 new cases in the Algarve region.

Today, more than 604 cases were reported nationwide, a number lower than yesterday, as well as four deaths across the country, spread over Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (2), North (1) and Algarve (1).

In hospitals, the number of inpatients continues to decline and are now 269 (-5). In intensive care, there are three fewer patients (52 in total).

 

 

By region, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (+24) registered the most new cases in 226 hours, followed by the North (+160), Center (+131), Algarve (+47), Madeira (+14) , Azores (+13) and Alentejo (+13).

Active cases rose to 31.312 (+357), since those recovered, which were 243, are fewer in number than new cases.

The risk matrix continues with an incidence rate, at national level, of 86,1 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants and 86,5, at continental level, ie, excluding Azores and Madeira.

R(t), the transmissibility index, remains at 1,02 at the national level and at 1,02 at the continental level.

There are 20.803 contacts under surveillance.
