“Saúde em Movimento” in Lagos wins the “Municipality Friend of Sport” seal of quality

Project is about 18 years old

“Saúde em Movimento” in Lagos, an initiative of the municipality to promote physical activity among the population over 40 years old, received the seal of quality certification from the national program “Município Amigo do Desporto”.

The lacobrigense project, which emerged as «a way to promote active and healthy aging, was implemented by the municipality about 18 years ago».

Aimed at citizens over the age of 40, the objectives of “Saúde em Movimento” include the «development of the physical and metabolic skills of the participants, along with their physical, psychological and social well-being», according to the City of Lagos.

The “Município Amigo do Desporto” program, in turn, which certifies the project, is “a network of Portuguese municipalities with a perspective of sharing good practices, benchmarking and training in relation to their intervention models in the practices of physical activities and in the sports development'.

«This certification awarded to the “Saúde em Movimento” program will allow, among other advantages, access to videos of classes from other municipalities that are part of the program, integration in an exchange group between programs from other municipalities, participation in meetings of seniors in the tourism and physical activity, access to a monitoring system, satisfaction index and opportunities for improvement and access to content on various topics associated with healthy living», summarized the municipality.

The formal opening session of the 19th edition of “Saúde em Movimento” season 2021/2022 is scheduled for the next 1st of October in the auditorium of Paços do Concelho Séc.
