RIA Project brings the Faro representatives of multinationals in the technology sector

The initiative aims to show tools that help make the Algarve a Smart Region

Representatives of the international “giants” in the field of IBM, Lenovo, Microsoft, Vodafone and Huawei technologies, but also of the Algarve companies Visualforma and Algardata, as well as the Portuguese company Soltráfego, will participate in a meeting on “Methodologies for Access to Information and Technological Vision” , on the 10th of September, from 9:30 am, at the Teresa Gamito amphitheater of the Gambelas Campus of the University of Algarve (UAlg), in Faro.

This session is held within the scope of the Algarve Intelligent Region (RIA) project and aims to «train those involved in the use of emerging technologies used for the design, conception and implementation of an Intelligent Region» in the Algarve», according to UAlg.

The RIA project, coordinated by CCDR Algarve in partnership with the University of Algarve, the Algarve Tourism Region and the Algarve Intermunicipal Community, «intends to strengthen the capacities of partner entities for the pursuit of an Intelligent Region of the Algarve, through involvement of partners with the region's stakeholders, aiming at regional competitiveness and innovation in contexts of digitization of the economy».

The opening session, scheduled for 9:30 am, will include the participation of Paulo Águas, rector of the University of Algarve, and José Apolinário, president of CCDR Algarve.

Throughout the day, representatives of the invited companies will intervene.

The RIA project is co-financed by CRESC Algarve 2020 – Regional Operational Program of the Algarve/European Social Fund (ESF).
