Last week, the Chamber of Silves and the League of Combatants signed a cooperation protocol for the maintenance of the monument in honor of the Silvese military who died in the Overseas War.
The agreement aims at "the conservation, maintenance and beautification of the space where the monument stands".
The ceremony was attended by Rosa Palma, mayor of Silves, and Jaime Marreiros and Francisco Pargana, respectively president and vice-president of the Lagoa Portimão Nucleus of the Liga dos Combatentes.
