Sagres lifeguard rescues two catamaran crew on Burgau beach

Vessel was towed to Praia da Luz, for navigation safety reasons

Two British crew members who fell into the water after the catamaran where they had turned in front of Burgau beach, in Lagos, due to the wind that was felt at the place, were rescued yesterday by elements of the Life Saving Station of Sagres.

The alert was received by the picket of the local Command of the Maritime Police of Lagos, around 16:30 pm, through a person who was on the beach, reporting the presence of two people in difficulties in the water, and was immediately sent to the location. a vessel from the Sagres Lifeguard Station.

Upon arriving at the catamaran, the elements of the Sagres lifeguard rescued the two crew members from the water. Both had their life jackets on.

The catamaran was then towed by the lifeguard to Praia da Luz, for safety reasons for navigation. As they were physically well, it was not necessary to provide medical assistance to the two crew members.

This action was coordinated by the Captain of the Port and Local Commander of the Maritime Police of Lagos.

The local command of the Maritime Police of Lagos took care of the incident.
