Adelino leaves Vila do Bispo for Algar without telling successor Rute Silva

The new president has already expressed his "profound dislike for the unreasonable manner" as the resignation of Adelino took place, "without prior notice"

Rute Silva is the new mayor of Vila do Bispo, after the resignation of Adelino Soares to assume the functions of executive member of the Algar company. The changes were approved this Thursday, May 27, at a meeting of the executive, and the departure of the former mayor has already been criticized by the new president, who expressed her «profound dislike for the unreasonable way» of the resignation, «without communication Preview".

In these statements, the first by Rute Silva as the leader of the autarchy, the new president regrets that "no passing of testimony (that is, documentation!)" was made before the executive.

This is a situation of the "greatest seriousness", stresses Rute Silva, who still expresses her "immense honor" for assuming the position of mayor of Vila do Bispo.

«It will only be a few months that announce the turning point in a journey of almost 12 years. Today, we have to admit, there is a historic date for our council: the day the first woman president of Vila do Bispo Council takes office, a fact that makes me deeply proud, as a person and citizen», he says.

Despite criticism for the departure from the autarchy, Rute Silva, which had already been announced as a PS candidate for the Vila do Bispo Chamber in this year's Municipalities, takes the opportunity to congratulate Adelino Soares on his election as «executive member of the Board of Directors of Algar, representing the Algarve Intermunicipal Community (AMAL), wishing him all the best in his new mission, this time with a regional scope».

With the departure of Adelino, the remaining executive council also underwent changes: until now councilor Armindo Vicente, who had no assigned functions, takes on full-time functions and has been appointed vice-president. Fernando Santana continues as a full-time councilor and Marisa Dias was made official as councilor with no assigned functions.

As for the portfolios, the new mayor will be responsible for areas such as civil protection, municipal strategy, municipal management that encompasses administration, economy and finance, municipal development that encompasses social action, housing, education, health, transport, culture, sport and youth, associations, tourism, agriculture and fisheries and environment, among others.

Vice President Armindo Vicente will be in charge of the area of municipal urbanism, which includes the management of the territory and urban operations, as well as municipal works, including project management and the execution of contracts.

Councilor Fernando Santana remains responsible for the areas of urban cleaning, water, sanitation and also for the maintenance and conservation of buildings and public spaces.

According to Rute Silva, in the months remaining until the end of the mandate, the objective is to «continue the various projects in progress, correct some of the problems identified, unlock pending situations and contribute to the constant improvement and scope of the services provided by this Municipality to the its Population, always with a high sense of public duty».

The mayor also expresses her «felt gratitude for the unconditional support and friendship shown by the councilors who will accompany me full time, as well as all the confidence in the other members of this municipal executive who, I believe, will do everything to privilege a harmonious and democratic”.

As for Adelino Soares, who was elected mayor of Vila do Bispo for the first time in 2009, he goes to the position at Algar, which was previously held by Nuno Amorim, former vice-president of the Chamber of Lagoa.
