A group of citizens will deliver this Thursday, April 8, at 11:00 am, an open letter in which they ask Hugo Pereira, mayor of Lagos, to protect the cliffs of Ponta da Piedade "from private interests".

“Hundreds of citizens, including lawyers, businessmen, celebrities – such as singer Dino D'Santiago – and expatriates joined the campaign, started by a group of citizens, to ask the City Council of Lagos to stop the development of construction projects by the cliffs of Ponta da Piedade and to carry out a public consultation», says this movement, in a statement.

Jonathan Silva will deliver, along with other citizens, an open letter signed by more than 300 relevant citizens of the city.

Signatories include lawyers, entrepreneurs, investors, cycle teachers and university professors, dentists, psychologists, sociologists, architects, researchers, environmental engineers, agronomists, retired members of the City Council, as well as celebrities such as singer Dino D'Santiago.

Jonathan's campaign to protect the Ponta de Piedade cliffs has three simple requirements: secure access to the cliffs through the removal of the fences, the withdrawal of any current development plans for the cliffs, or building permits, and a public consultation for the community can decide with the municipality what should happen to the area.
