In the Algarve, there are 29 childcare schools for children and other dependents of essential service workers, who will serve meals to students covered by support under the Social Action Program.
In all, according to the list published in the website of the Directorate-General for Schools, there are about 700 host schools across the country.
"From this Monday, schools continue to fulfill an essential social function throughout the territory, guaranteeing children and young people who need it a day to day care or an adequate food response", stresses the Ministry of Education.
