The fourth tender for the construction of the new bridge at Praia de Faro has proposals open until February 11th. The base value of the work rose to 4,9 million euros.
After the three previous tenders were closed for lack of proposals (published in November 2017, December 2018 e September 2020), the base value of the competition for the fourth competition, published this Monday, December 28, in Diário da República, rises from 3,5 million to 4,9 million euros.
The objective is that «the price of the intervention is more adequate to the reality of the current market», says the Chamber of Faro.
A large part of the financing of this project, with an execution period of 540 days and responsibility of the Polis Litoral Ria Formosa Society, will be provided by the Municipality of Faro.
The new access bridge to Praia de Faro it will replace the current one, being located on a route parallel to the East, at a distance that takes care of, among other factors, «the need to carry out the demolition work of the current bridge», says the autarchy.
The demolition and removal costs will be borne by the Chamber, "after the construction and entry into operation of the new one, which will cover a distance of about 180 meters, with a deck 11 meters wide".
«This board will accommodate two lanes for automobile circulation, also allowing public transport access to Praia de Faro, also contemplating two pedestrian walkways, one of them with a width that allows the coexistence of the pedestrian circulation with the cyclable one».
In view of the initial project, the stylistic elements outside the bridge deck, which greatly burdened this intervention, were also removed from the project. After the intervention, the management and maintenance of this infrastructure will be the responsibility of the municipality.
