National Minimum Wage rises to 665 euros from 1st January

National minimum wage goes up to 30 euros

The value of the Guaranteed Minimum Monthly Remuneration will rise to 665 euros, taking effect on January 1st, the Government decided in the Council of Ministers, after hearing the Social Partners with a seat on the Permanent Commission for Social Consultation.

The national minimum wage thus rises to 30 euros.

Yesterday's statement by the Council of Ministers explains that «the XXII Government has included in its Program the objective of deepening, within the framework of negotiation in terms of social agreement, the trajectory of real updating of the national minimum wage, in a phased, predictable and sustained manner , evolving each year according to the dynamics of employment and economic growth, to reach 750 euros in 2023».

The national minimum wage constitutes "an important reference in the employment market and a decisive instrument for combating inequalities and promoting decent work," the statement added.
