Internationalizar+Algarve 2.0 projects were presented at NERA

The need to improve communication of what is produced in the Algarve was one of the points under discussion

The projects Internacionalizar + Algarve 2.O|Turismo and Internacionalizar + Algarve 2.0|Agrifood, Sea and TIC were presented last Wednesday at NERA's premises in Loulé.

These projects, jointly promoted by NERA – Algarve Business Association, by the Algarve Tourism Association and Algarve Tourism Region, were approved by CRESC Algarve 2020|Portugal 2020 and aim to «help the internationalization of small and medium-sized companies in the region that operate in the areas of tourism, agri-food, sea and ICT”.

The opening of the presentation session was attended by Vítor Neto, chairman of the board of NERA and João Fernandes, chairman of Turismo do Algarve.

On the panel dedicated to the “New Challenges of the Tourism sector” João Ministro, from Proactivetur and António José Correia, from Fórum Oceano – Associação da Economia do Mar, shared with the more than 50 participants their points of view, in particular the opportunities that the current crisis may represent.

In the panel dedicated to the “New Challenges of Internationalization of the Agrifood, Sea and ICT sectors”, in which Pedro Monteiro, Regional Director of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Algarve, Pedro Monteiro, José Oliveira, president of AlgarOrange – Citrus Operators Association, participated. Sara Silva, president of the Algarve Wine Commission, and Vanessa Nascimento, vice president of the Algarve Evolution Association, were unanimous in the need to continue to invest in networking and improving the communication of what is happening.

At the end of this session, Francisco Serra, president of CCDR Algarve, concluded the meeting defending that «the challenge continues for us to be able to have a different region and overcome this crisis as quickly as possible, always with a sense of security, but
