Municipal Volunteer Award once again distinguishes the best in the area in Portimão

Applications can be made until 31st October

The Municipal Volunteering Award, which aims to distinguish and support best practices in this area, has applications open until 31 October. 

This award thus seeks to “distinguish volunteering and solidarity projects with a measurable impact on the lives of recipients, in the areas of solidarity and health, environment, social economy, education and training, aiming to promote the improvement of the quality of life of children, young people, elderly people, citizens with disabilities, the homeless, migrants, ethnic groups and other people in vulnerable situations».

All interested parties can compete with projects in the area of ​​volunteering – or who have an innovative idea to solve a social problem – and that in this way will have the opportunity to see their work recognized and supported.

In its debut edition, the award was won by the “Social Barbershop” project, by Cáritas Parish of Nossa Senhora da Conceição – Portimão Parish, which should open its doors in mid-September with all the conditions for the operation of an accessible barbershop.

The main objective is to promote the social integration of the less fortunate through a change of look, facilitating their integration into the labor market.

As for this edition, applications can be made until October 31st by corporate bodies incorporated and with legal personality, as well as natural persons, with the two best candidate projects being distinguished, one in the singular category and the other in the collective category, with support cash of 6.500 euros each.
