There are already 314 recovered and only 64 active cases in the Algarve

Total number of cases accumulated amounts to 395

There are 314 recovered from Covid-19 in the Algarve, which means that 79,5% of the 395 people infected with SARS-Cov2 disease in the region since the start of the pandemic are already cured. Since yesterday, there is one more person recovered.

The data are from the Regional Health Authority and have just been released by the District Civil Protection Commission of Faro, in your weekly state of affairs.

However, taking into account that the data from the Regional Authority point to the existence of 395 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (2 more than yesterday and equally 2 more than those released today. at the end of the morning, by the Directorate-General for Health), there is today another active case of the disease, totaling 64 active situations in the Algarve at the moment.

It is assumed that 1 of these 2 new cases registered in the last 24 hours in our region is that of a employee of a day care center in Quarteira, such as the Sul Informação reported today firsthand.

In addition to this new case in the municipality of Loulé, which our newspaper found another new infection situation is registered in Castro Marim, a municipality that remained for more than two months with 2 cases already recovered, but now has a 3rd sick person .

The information from the Regional Health Authority also said that there are currently 5 people admitted to the hospital, one more than yesterday, but none of them in intensive care.

The information from the Health Authority also confirms the existence of 17 deaths in the Algarve, since the beginning of the pandemic, 2 more than the ones that the DGS continues to count in its daily bulletin.

The Regional Health Authority adds that "the number of tests performed corresponds to about 7,2% of the population residing in the Algarve."

The information disclosed by the District Civil Protection Commission of Faro adds that the tests for employees of day care centers, pre-schools and centers of occupational activities throughout the region, carried out between May 4th and June 1st, have already been completed.

In total, 4040 tests were carried out in 197 establishments, in the 16 municipalities of the Algarve.

On the 10th and 11th of June, the coordinator of the implementation of the Declaration of the Situation of Calamity in the Algarve, also Secretary of State José Apolinário, made working visits to the beaches, in the municipalities of Castro Marim, Portimão, Tavira, Vila do Bispo and Vila Real de Santo António, accompanied by the Mayors, to observe the measures implemented for the occupation and use of the beaches, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, from 17 pm, José Apolinário visits Praia do Carvoeiro, continuing these work visits, accompanied by the president of the Lagoa City Council, Luís Encarnação.
