There are 393 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve [interactive map]

In recent days, the number of recovered people in the Algarve region has risen. Active cases are now 63

In the last two days, the Algarve registered two more confirmed cases of Covid-19, bringing the cumulative total of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 393, according to the Sul Informação from an official source.

The two new cases in the last few days were registered in Portimão and Albufeira and result from infections in a family context, as far as our newspaper was able to find out.

But there is also, in regional data, one more death to report, making the total number of deaths rise to 17.

Official source explained to Sul Informação that it was a lady, who died earlier this week in Portimão, in her second home. The lady had the Lisbon region as her usual area of residence.

Although this occurrence was registered in the Algarve by the regional health authority, taking into account that the lady officially resided in the capital area, "probably the case will have been recorded in Lisbon in recent days", added the same source.

This, as well as a certain delay in the integration of data, perhaps explains the fact that the General Directorate of Health continues to count, for the Algarve, 391 cases and 15 deaths.

The good news is that the total of recoveries has also gone up and more than new cases and deaths. There are now 313 people recovered from Covid-19 in the Algarve, eight more than in recent days. The recoveries took place in Loulé, Albufeira and Silves.

These data mean that there are only 63 active cases of Covid-19 at the moment in the Algarve region. Of these, only 4 are admitted to the hospital in Faro and none of them ventilated or in need of Intensive Care.
