DGS confirms 393 Covid-19 cases in Algarve, Alentejo has no new infected

Data from the epidemiological bulletin for this Friday, the 12th of June

The Algarve currently has 393 cases of Covid-19 in numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic and the Alentejo has the same 277 (accumulated) as yesterday, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) this Friday. Thursday, June 12th.

The DGS daily report today included the two new cases in the Algarve of which the Sul Informação had already realized yesterday. Today DGS confirms this number, after yesterday 391 cases reported in the Algarve region, the same as on Wednesday. In other words, despite an increase, from one DGS bulletin to another, these cases were already reported yesterday, at the regional level.

In Alentejo, everything remains the same: 277 cases since the pandemic began.

With regard to deaths in the Algarve, the DGS continues to mention 15, which means that neither the death of a foreign citizen residing in Portimão, which is accounted for by the regional authority, nor the more recent death of a woman who is habitually resident in Lisbon, but who died in his second home, in Portimão, will be awarded to the Algarve by DGS.

In Alentejo, there is still only one death counted.

At the national level, the highlight is the number of deaths, 1505, one more than yesterday, the lowest rise at the national level in a long time.

As for the number of accumulated cases, today it is 36.180, 270 more than yesterday – which represents a decrease in the daily number of cases. Also in relation to this Thursday, there were 198 people to get rid of the disease, bringing the total number of recovered to 22200.

 

 

By regions, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo was again largely responsible for the daily increase in cases, with 246 more than yesterday (14407, in accumulated numbers).

In the North Region, which still stands as the one with the most cases since the beginning of the pandemic (17024), there are now 17 more cases. At the center, there are now 3846 cases backlog, five more than yesterday.

In the Algarve (393), Alentejo (277), Azores (143) and Madeira (90) there were no new cases since yesterday.

There are currently 440 hospitalized people in the country's hospitals, 25 more than yesterday, of which 73 are in intensive care (more 3).

Also according to the epidemiological bulletin, there are 1486 people awaiting laboratory results and there are 30.779 contacts under surveillance by health authorities.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, in Portugal, there have been a total of 346.703 suspected cases, but, of these, 309.037 were not confirmed.
