Fire in Aljezur forces the evacuation of motorhome park

Fire has two active fronts

A fire that broke out in the middle of the afternoon today, Tuesday, in the area of ​​Quinta das Alfambras, in the parish of Bordeira, in Aljezur, forced the evacuation of a motorhome park in the area of ​​the Espinhaço de Cão wind farm, at the top of this mountain.

Contacted by Sul Informação, the Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command (CREPC) revealed that the fire “has two fronts” and is raging “in an area of ​​bush and eucalyptus”.

Apart from the motorhome park, which was “evacuated as a precaution”, there are, for now, no homes at risk. There is also still no record of material damage or victims.

At around 17 pm, the fire, which was alerted at 00:14 pm, was being fought by two aerial means, 59 operational and 93 ground vehicles, but “reinforcements were already on the way”, according to CREPC.
