The face-to-face classes for 11th and 12th grade students, "as well as the second and third years of other training offers", will even start on May 18th, with mandatory use of a mask, which will be provided by the school, confirmed António Costa, at a press conference.

In the last two years of secondary school, face-to-face classes will be reduced to a minimum and the timetable will be reduced – between 10:00 and 17:00. For this, there will only be face-to-face teaching activity «of the core subjects, which can give access to Higher Education».

Also on the 18th of May, social facilities in the area of disability and day care centers with the option of family support will be opened. On the 1st of June it will be the turn of day care centers, pre-school and ATLs, and the use of masks is also mandatory, except for children in day care centers and kindergartens.

The Prime Minister was aware that "with regard to day care centers, parents are still afraid of children." Bearing this in mind, «in the first fortnight, between the 18th of May and the 1st of June, the responsibility for the reopening can be shared and therefore the family support measures for parents who are at home taking care of the children will remain in force. ».

These are some of the measures of gradual deconfinement and the resumption of social and economic activity announced by the prime minister, after a meeting with the President of the Republic, where he went to report on the decisions of today's Council of Ministers.

Thus, as of Sunday, Portugal is no longer in a state of emergency, becoming a state of calamity. And if, on the one hand, this means that there will be a reduction in limitations, it does not mean that the rope be totally relieved.

For example, the ban on events with more than 10 people is maintained and the capacity of closed spaces is limited to 5 people per 100m2, as well as mandatory confinement for sick people.

On the other hand, says António Costa, “the use of masks in public transport, in commerce, in schools and in closed places where there are high numbers of people” was determined.

What is certain is that, should the situation evolve to piro, António Costa says that he will never be "ashamed or embarrassed to take a step back if this guarantees that it is essential: the security of the Portuguese".
