Public session presents the plan of the Chamber of Faro to Lejana

Detailed plan of this area of ​​the city of Faro, where the Health Center and the Water Deposit are located, is under public consultation

A session open to the entire population to discuss Lejana's Detailed Plan, currently under public consultation, will be promoted by the Chamber of Faro, on the 7th of February, at 16 pm, in the main hall of the Municipal Chamber of Faro.

This initiative will take place almost two weeks before the date stipulated for the end of the public consultation period, the 19th of February.

Any citizen can consult the plan, which is available at Loja do Municipe (Mercado Municipal de Faro), in the Department of Infrastructure and Urbanism of the Chamber of Faro (São Francisco Square) or in the Chamber website de Faro.

Contributions from the population must be made in writing, by the end of the period of public discussion, and addressed to the Mayor of Faro, by mail or to the email [email protected], «with the express indication of “Public Discussion of the Detailed Plan of Lejana” and with the identification and contact address of the signatory».

According to the Chamber of Faro, the proposal in question "constitutes an amendment to the one discussed in 2018, with adjustments having been made arising from the shares delivered at the time".

Lejana's Detailed Plan covers an area of ​​approximately 42 hectares, «perfectly integrated into urban land, but which presents different realities in terms of the consolidation of urban space».

«The intervention area is delimited to the south by Avenida Calouste Gulbenkian, to the west by Estrada da Senhora da Saúde, to the north, even if partially, by the urbanization entitled Alvará n.º1/04 and the area surrounding the future traced by the 3rd circular in Faro, and east along the EN2/ Estrada do Alportel», framed the municipality.

This area includes, «partially or totally, various urbanizations resulting from urban subdivision operations, vacant parcels object of private claims, the area surrounding the Water Deposit, as well as areas that need to be re-qualified and restructured».

With the instrument for spatial planning now under public consultation, the Chamber “intends to ensure a coherent, balanced and sustainable urban structure, promoting urbanism that respects the morphology of the place and, at the same time, contributes to the enhancement of the entrances to the city of Faro, promoting the qualification and requalification of the main road axes, namely the EN2/Estrada do Alportel and Estrada da Senhora da Saúde, also ensuring the completion of the 3rd circular of Faro».
