Ornatos Violeta, António Zambujo, Blasted Mechanism, Ana Bacalhau, Amor Electro, Carolina Deslandes, are some of the artists who will be at Festival F, that Vila Adentro de Faro welcomes between the 5th and 7th of September.
The sixth edition of this festival will also feature names such as David Carreira, Capitão Fausto, Linda Martini, Mayra Andrade, Átoa, ProfJam, I Love Baile Funk and 9 Miller, as well as a Revenge of the 90's party.
According to the organization, the poster "navigates between pop, rock and hip-hop" and "gathers artists devoted to the great promises of current Portuguese music."
In this edition, in addition to daily tickets and three-day general passes, general passes with access to limited places available at #glamping at Praia de Faro and the possibility of purchasing tickets for the intimate concerts at Palco Formosa, which will take place on a boat.
«There is much more to the programming that will still be revealed, there is a lack of jazz and stand-up comedy», said Paulo Santos, vice president of the Chamber of Faro, to Sul Informação.
Regarding the poster, the mayor prefers not to highlight any of the names, since «the Jazz Stage is as good as the stand-up comedy, or the Ria Stage. Each one has its own values, musical or in other areas, and it is important to have names with some expression for the public, but it is also important to have young talents and musicians from the Algarve».
It is, therefore, up to people to “choose among the more than 60 concerts”.
In terms of the venue, Paulo Santos revealed some novelties such as «Palco Jazz, which leaves Galeria Arco and moves to Fábrica da Cerveja».
The Castelo Stage, this year, will have stand-up comedy, and the stage of Galeria Arco will be a “more relaxed area, which can be used to get away from the hustle and bustle of the festival.
The F Kids space will also move to the entrance to the Ria Stage, with the aim of providing “greater comfort for families,” according to Paulo Santos.
The organization emphasizes that the F asserts itself «as a space for aggregating audiences of various genders and ages between #VilaAdentro, the historic area of the city where the Sé, Quintalão, Fábrica and Museum Stages, and the Ria Formosa are located».
This connection to the ria «has been getting closer as the festival has grown, first with the need to bring the main stage, Palco Ria, outside the walls of Vila Adentro, and this year also with the Palco Formosa that it takes over it literally laughed as a backdrop, with a daily concert in the late afternoon aboard a boat: on the 5th, with Benjamim, on the 6th with Valter Lobo and on the 7th with MOMO».
Another novelty is the response to a frequent request from the public of previous editions, with the creation, for the first time, from a restricted area of glamping at the Nautical Center of Praia de Faro.
Anyone wishing to take advantage of this offer will have access to the festival during the three days, with a return connection between the Nautical Center and the Festival, via boat, as well.
Parallel activities, such as visual arts, workshops, contemporary circus, theater for the youngest and late-afternoon gatherings on current themes complete the program.
Altice will reinforce the partnership with Festival F in this sixth edition, making available, over the three days, experiences and technological activations.
Altice will also be responsible for Wi-Fi solutions and for communications within the premises, allowing the public to access the internet free of charge.
In 2018, close to 50 thousand people attended Festival F, in an edition that broke the record of attendance receiving 16 thousand people on the first night, 14 thousand on the second and 18 thousand on the last.
Festival F is an initiative of the Municipality of Faro, from Teatro das Figuras, from Ambifaro and the production company Sons em Trânsito.
