The renovation works of the Largo da República garden, in Silves, will restrict traffic on the streets connecting this square to the Caixa d'Água neighborhood and Sítio do Pinheiro, at the beginning of September, «predictably until the 6th». announced the Chamber of Silves.
The contract "Requalification of Jardim da República, Silves" began in March and aims to renovate the garden from a scenic and functional point of view, "involving green spaces, pavement, complete refurbishment of the infrastructure of the water supply, sanitation and rainwater networks, public lighting, telecommunications, urban furniture (stop shelter, benches and picnic tables, bicycle parking, litter bins, drinking fountains, ecological island), creation of a water element with nebulizers, construction of a building with cafeteria, public toilets and terrace with shading».
The work will cost 1,8 million euros, 558 thousand of which will be funded by the European Union.
