After party Fridays, Faro will have "Family Saturdays"

Baixa Street Fest will continue with activities on Saturday afternoons, with families in mind

After Friday nights full of entertainment throughout the summer, the Baixa de Faro between 7th September and 16th November there will be “Sábados em Família” (Family Saturdays), which will occupy the afternoons of children and adults.

The “Sábado em Família” will be promoted as part of the Baixa Street Fest 2019, which is extended in order to «continue the dynamics developed on Friday nights in Baixa de Faro», according to the Chamber of Faro.

In the first week, this initiative, which always takes place between 16 pm and 00 pm, will be dedicated to City Day, «with the presence of local artists and performances associated with the identity of the city and the region».

"The following Saturdays will be dedicated to dance, poetry, arts and crafts, the environment and sports, among other themes, with the participation of local associations," added the municipality.

With “Family Saturdays”, the Chamber of Faro wants to "contribute to alleviate the effects of seasonality and enhance the commercial and leisure attractiveness of the historic area of Faro, especially at weekends and with the local population'.

Before starting this new program, Baixa Street Fest will also have one last Friday night with street entertainment. On the 30th, the public will also be able to count on the artistic project Aquatropia, at 23 pm, at Jardim Manuel Bívar, «a multidisciplinary show inspired by the sea and nature».

These initiatives are organized by the City Council of Faro, of ACRAL – Association of Commerce and Services of the Algarve and ADCZHF – Association of Commercial Development of the Historic Area of Faro.
